Recently, CCTV2’s renowned program Economy Half-Hour featured a detailed report on AlpsenTek in a special episode. Deng Jian, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of AlpsenTek, introduced the company’s Hybrid Vision sensing technology and applications to the audience.

In AlpsenTek’s view, a truly “world-understanding” hybrid vision sensor comprises four core elements: first, detail information, captured by image sensors; second, distance information, captured by LiDAR or 3D cameras; third, color information, captured by spectral sensing; and the most challenging fourth—temporal and change information, namely real-time acquisition of motion information, captured by event cameras. Consequently, the “stuttering” and “discontinuity” commonly seen in high-speed motion scenarios such as robotics are essentially caused by inadequate capture of change and temporal information.

To address this industry challenge, AlpsenTek integrates image sensing and event sensing—two modalities of perception—at the pixel array level on a single chip, and has built an industry technology barrier through a complete “chip + algorithm + system” capability. The hybrid vision sensor has successfully achieved mass production and has been deployed in scenarios including machine vision and autonomous driving.
