SHENZHEN, China – AlpsenTek announced a partnership with the School of Microelectronics at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) to establish a joint laboratory focused on next-generation vision sensors. The collaboration aims to combine academic and industrial expertise to accelerate innovation.

The newly formed “AlpsenTek – SUSTech Shenzhen-Hong Kong Microelectronics Joint Laboratory” will drive research and development in key areas including novel algorithms, sensor architecture, and manufacturing processes for advanced visual sensors. It will also focus on talent development and commercialization of research outcomes, with shared intellectual property rights under the agreement.
Dr. Xiaoguang LIU, a tenured professor at SUSTech, will lead the laboratory. Dr. LIU holds a Ph.D. from Purdue University and previously served as a tenured associate professor at UC Davis before joining SUSTech in 2021. His research focuses on high-frequency integrated circuit design.
